Gru’s Rise is reviewed with perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb

Minions: The Rise of Gru breaks records in its opening weekend during the Fourth of July holiday. It also gets a little extra support from fans (maybe the same fans who wear suits for the shows) blow the review – or rather, blow the reverse review – the movie on IMDb And the rotten tomatoes. Reviewing a movie blast usually means going to these sites and giving the movie a low fan rating regardless of whether the reviewer has already seen the movie. The opposite happens with Minions: Rise of a puppy. People go to these sites to increase the overall score of movie viewers with perfect ratings, either 10 out of 10 on IMDb or 5 out of 5 in rotten tomatoes.

Some then turn to social media to encourage others to do the same. One example reads, “Everyone, go to IMDb and give ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’ a 10 rating. Also go to Rotten Tomatoes to give the movie either 5 out of 5 and 10 out of 10. #TheRiseofGru #Minions #maxcinema #cinema”

So far the campaign has seen some success. on IMDB, Minions: Rise of a puppy Weighted average votes are 7.2/10. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has a rating of 92% of viewers Compared to Tomatometer’s score of 72%. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Minions anti-fog tricks have begun despite introducing this sequel to retro style, though this crazy marathon of gags will still delight young children.”

The enthusiasm seems ridiculous. Minions have come to represent a broad brand of humor in popular culture through memes and the ability to easily change their simple designs. The push to give it a higher rating seems to be about endorsing low-brow films over high-art cinema, but mostly about LOLs.

Minions: Rise of a puppy It is the second Minions movie, a sequel to the original movie, and the second prequel to it despicable meand the fifth Despicable Me movie in general. According to the brief, “In the 1970s, a young Gru tried to join a group of super-villains called Vicious 6 after they overthrew their leader—the legendary fighter Wild Knuckles. When the interview turns catastrophic, Gru and his minions run with Vicious 6 on their tails. Fortunately, he found a source Unlikely to direct—Wild Knuckles himself—and soon discovers that even the wicked need a little help from their friends.”
